A Beginner’s Clinic at Pole Vault Carolina is where to learn the fundamentals of pole vaulting. Athletes will learn basic drills in an encouraging environment. By the end of practice, athletes will be jumping over bungees. (Yes, they really will.)
Once athletes have a firm grasp on the basics and are safely executing jumps, they can attend our Open Practice Sessions, offered 5 days a week. In the Open Practice Sessions, athletes will work more independently on drills to enhance their run, takeoff, and swing, and will receive feedback on every attempt at a jump.
Who should attend a Beginner’s Clinic?
Anyone who is looking to learn a new sport and to build confidence doing so. There are no benchwarmers in pole vault. Everybody jumps!
We coach athletes who come to us with a lot of athletic development, and none at all. What is needed to be a great pole vaulter is coachability and commitment.
If you are willing to take advice from a coach and execute the cues provided, and want to develop yourself athletically so you can continue to improve your personal best, join us for a Beginner’s Clinic.
We develop pole vaulters to compete at the highest levels. Our top athletes will compete at nationals, and every senior who wants to compete in college will earn a spot on the team. To date, Pole Vault Carolina and Jose R. San Miguel have coached 50 athletes on to collegiate teams, with athletes having earned well over a million dollars in scholarship.
