Pole Vault Carolina senior Jonathan Horn cleared 16′ at The Pole Vault Carolina April Invitational landing a spot on the all-time list in North Carolina! A student at Burlington Christian Academy, Jon will compete for Duke University in the fall.
We couldn’t be happier for Jonathan Horn and his commitment to Duke University! Jonathan committed to improve the summer before his junior year; then he became unstoppable. Duke was not on his college radar as he didn’t think he was good enough. When the coach from Duke visited the club last month, Jon vaulted his heart out. Coach Wilbourn started videoing his jumps and at the end of practice offered him a spot on the team. Success is where opportunity…
Jon Horn won gold in the pole vault and long jump, and silver in the 110m hurdles and 300 m hurdles at the NCISAA Division III State Championships! Jon PR’d in the vault with a massive jump at 14’6″. He is currently the highest ranked pole vaulter across all classifications in North Carolina. Thanks to all the points Jon scored (36!) the Burlington Christian team placed second overall in the Division III championships!
