We teach confidence through pole vault.
Recently, on March 17-19, thirteen Pole Vault Carolina athletes competed at the 2023 Adidas Track and Field Indoor Nationals in Virginia Beach, VA!
Jack Tan, Summer Laskey, Colin Troan, Abigail Cornell, Ayana Jackson, Lloyd Armstrong, Antonio San Miguel, Danica McCarron, Ali Laros, Larkin Toper, Lucie Haws, Thea Milley, and Tessa Kranick.
In preparation for this meet, we asked our athletes to compete and be coachable and we were pleased with how they handled themselves.
The flights for nationals were huge! There were 50 athletes in a flight for the elite national girls, and 60 athletes for the elite national boys.
With long wait times between jumps, our athletes learned to conserve their energy and manage their mental game. Most importantly they realized that they are competitive on a national stage in pole vault, which served to boost their belief in themselves.
