Maddie Davies, a junior at Athens Drive High School, won the NCHSAA 4 A State Championships last weekend with a jump of 12′! Maddie is one of the hardest working pole vaulters we know. She has dealt with injury and adversity which has only made her stronger and more determined! We are so happy to celebrate her success!
Julianna won the state meet in the pole vault, and placed third with her teammates in the 4 X 100! Two days later she was named MVP at the Durham Academy Awards Night for her contributions to the track team this season!
Where beginners become advanced and the good become great! Summer camp at Pole Vault Carolina is an intensive study and practice of the pole vault. In a positive teaching environment, athletes will practice gymnastics, Olympic lifts, hurdles, running mechanics, and dynamic drills. They will learn all phases of the pole vault and will take plenty of jumps! July 20, 21, and 22, 2021 9 am – noon $225 Limited spots available. Registration is now open!
Jon Horn won gold in the pole vault and long jump, and silver in the 110m hurdles and 300 m hurdles at the NCISAA Division III State Championships! Jon PR’d in the vault with a massive jump at 14’6″. He is currently the highest ranked pole vaulter across all classifications in North Carolina. Thanks to all the points Jon scored (36!) the Burlington Christian team placed second overall in the Division III championships!
JULIANNA HALLYBURTON won it ALL at the TISAC* championships! On day one, Julianna broke the conference record by 14 inches, and jumped a new personal best of 11’8″! On day two, she and her relay teammates in the 4X100 and 4X200 won their events and the Durham Academy girls are the conference champions!
