On Friday February 3, 2023, Pole Vault Carolina will host The Last Chance Invitational. If you have not yet qualified for the state meet, invite your school coach to attend to verify your mark. If you have already qualified, compete to stay sharp before your state championships! The meet will begin at 5 pm. Register here. All athletes from public and independent schools are welcome.
On November 21, 2015, we opened Pole Vault Carolina’s indoor facility! We had 6 athletes, 10 poles, no money, and a dream. We signed a 90-day lease to get us through the winter, a time when we usually canceled 60% of our practices due to weather. Seven years later, we are home to 33 state champions, and 72 national qualifiers. We have coached 40 athletes into collegiate athletics, and numerous vaulters to personal success. Training for a decathlon is an excellent opportunity to increase athleticism and prepare to compete in the indoor track season. We will offer decathlon training sessions on Monday evenings from 6-8 pm at Pole Vault Carolina. Pole Vault Carolina will be hosting a boys and girls decathlon in late October/early November! We are finalizing the dates with Cary Academy where the decathlon will take place. Athletes will be trained in hurdles, long jump, high jump, starts, shot put, discus, and javelin. …

Sixteen athletes competed in the Pole Vault Carolina Decathlon last weekend and truly wowed us with their tenacity. Fifteen of those athletes had never attempted a decathlon before. We asked each athlete to set a goal to finish, and they did! There were many highlights, and one stands out above the rest: our youngest decathlete was 9 year-old Grant Elliott. Pole Vault Carolina will host a boys and girls decathlon on Friday July 22 and Saturday July 23 at Cary Academy! This is a unique opportunity for girls to participate in a decathlon as it is rarely contested for women / girls! Jon Horn, Jack Tan, Julianna Hallyburton, Summer Laskey, Abigail Cornell, Colin Johnson, Alden Bryson, Danica McCarron, Lloyd Armstrong, Noah Rhodes, Maddie Davies, and Bailey Tart. Jon Horn finished 4th in the championship section earning All-American status! Bailey Tart took 2nd place, Summer Laskey tied for 5th, and Julianna Hallyburton placed 6th in the elite section!
