Pole Vault Carolina athlete Antonio San Miguel represented Puerto Rico in the 15/16 Boys category of the 2023 AAU Junior Olympics. Antonio jumped a personal best of 4.25m, and placed 4th, earning All American status. When he finished competing, Antonio grabbed his Puerto Rican flag and ran to the tent where the athletes from Puerto Rico and their families were seated. Pole Vault Carolina athlete Colin Johnson has committed to pole vault at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte! Colin has a personal record of 16’2″ and his work ethic has inspired many other athletes. Colin is our club record holder! He plans to study Exercise Science. Summer attended Athens Drive High School in Raleigh where she competed in several events. Summer’s personal best in the pole vault is 12 feet. On November 21, 2015, we opened Pole Vault Carolina’s indoor facility! We had 6 athletes, 10 poles, no money, and a dream. We signed a 90-day lease to get us through the winter, a time when we usually canceled 60% of our practices due to weather. Seven years later, we are home to 33 state champions, and 72 national qualifiers. We have coached 40 athletes into collegiate athletics, and numerous vaulters to personal success.
