McKenna Brunick attended our final Summer Camp of the 2017 season, days after walking away from her gymnastics career. After 3 days of camp, McKenna cleared 10′ and was hooked on pole vault. 🙂 In less than a year of vaulting, McKenna has competed at both New Balance Indoor Nationals and New Balance Outdoor Nationals.  She placed 2nd at the NCHSAA Outdoor Championships, and here she is with her gold medal from the Powerade State Games. Carter Pehr attended camp in the summer of 2017. At the time his PR was 8’6″. After 3 days of focus and attention, Carter cleared 11′. The Dream Chasers On Monday January 8, the club hosted The Antonio San Miguel Birthday Invitational. Sixteen athletes showed up to pursue their pole vault dreams. Panther Creek Junior Maura Lane and Leesville Road Junior Elise Hall jumped with intent to vault the qualifying mark for New Balance Nationals. Both girls cleared 11’7”. We strap the pole bag to the top of the truck with bungees, double check the tape, sticky spray, spikes, jersey, water, snacks, gas money, ear phones and protein bars.
